President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Mr. Lino Anguzu as the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Mr. Anguzu, who has been serving as Assistant DPP, replaces Justice Jane Frances Abodo, who was recently appointed Principal Judge.
According to a communication from State House, issued by the Presidential Press Secretary Sandor Walusimbi, the President has forwarded Mr. Anguzu’s name to Parliament’s Appointments Committee for vetting and approval.
Once approved, Mr. Anguzu will assume leadership of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, the body mandated to direct, control, and supervise criminal prosecutions on behalf of the state.
