Parliament Passes Financial Institutions Amendment Act 2023, Exempting Bank of Uganda from Central Sharia Advisory Council for Islamic Banking

Parliament has cleared a bill for an Act titled the Financial Institutions Amendment Act 2023 seeking to relive Bank of Uganda from accommodating a Central Sharia Advisory Council under Islamic Banking . The legislators agreed that the council was created in bad spirit and the principal Act needed to be amended.
