PACEID, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the office of the Uganda Trade Representative in Chicago, is set to launch a comprehensive export preparedness training targeting the US market. This initiative aims to bolster Uganda’s key export sectors, including Banana, Beef, Coffee, Dried Fruits, Fresh Produce, Leather, Vanilla, Cow Horn, Dairy, Tourism, Grain, and Cocoa.
The training will encompass vital export aspects such as:
Foundational management
Food quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP for quality assurance to address sanitary and Phytosanitary requirements,
ISO 9001 and 22000 Certification
Local gap and good agricultural practices
Dr. Shiri, a certified US AGOA trainer, will lead the session. This training is a precursor to the Dallas summit, where PACEID will facilitate a buyer-seller session. The event will be inaugurated by the PACEID chair and the Senior Presidential Advisor on AGOA, President of the chamber of commerce, and PS Ministry of Trade
Uganda anticipates a surge in exports to the US, particularly in coffee, vanilla, rare earth minerals, bananas, leather products, dried fruits, and vegetables. Conversely, the US is expected to increase its exports to Uganda, focusing on technology, vehicles, and smartphones.
The online training will be attended by exporters planning to attend the B2B session organised by PACEID during the UNAA convention. The training will officially launched by:
