Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) Gets New Board Of Directors. 

The Minister for Information Communication and National Guidance Dr Chris Baryomunsi has today August 15th 2023 inaugurated a new Board of Directors to oversee the performance of the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation.
During the Inauguration at the UBC Headquarters in Kampala, Dr Chris Baryomunsi promised to support UBC to achieve its goals and objectives so that it can turn into a world class broadcasting entity.

Dr James Tumusiime who was re-appointed to lead UBC Board for the second term is an author, Journalist, and an entrepreneur.  He is known for spearheading the founding of The New Vision in 1986, Fountain Publishers in 1988, the National Book Trust of Uganda (NABOTU) in 1997, 100.2 Fm Radio West in 1998 and much more. He has served on several international boards, including African Publishers Network (APNET), and the International Board of Books for Young People (IBBY). He also served as Chairman of Council of Mbarara University of Science and Technology and chairman of the Uganda Tourism Board.

In his speech, Dr. James Tumusiime highlighted that the revamp proposals that had been tabled during their first term were not implemented due to covid and a limited resource envelope.  He promised to prioritize the completion of the revamp process and build strategic partnerships for the Corporation.
He welcomed and congratulated the new board members upon joining the National Public Broadcaster.
The new members of the Board are Mr. Ibrahim Makoma, Hon. Hamlet Mbabazi Kabushenga and Mr. Moses Watasa who join the former members, Hon. Turyahikayo Mary Paula, Hon Tezira Jamwa, Hon Sarah Namumbya and Mr Winston Agaba David who is also the UBC Managing Director.
The Managing Director Mr. Winston Agaba David appreciated the outgoing board and welcomed the new members.  He asked that all sector players come together to see that UBC is turned into a national pride .
