UPDF Soldier Private Peter Lokidi sentenced to sixty-five years in prison for the murder of three individuals and the attempted murder of two others in Nakapelimoru sub-county, Kotido district. Chaired by Col Francis Katereho, the court concluded a week-long field hearing addressing various cases of gun violence in Kotido.
Private Lokidi, aged thirty-three, broke into the residence of the Officer-In-Charge of Nakapelimoru police station on September 22, 2023, and used the accessed firearm to commit the crime. Despite pleading not guilty, Lokidi was convicted based on prosecution evidence.
