MIGRANT WORKERS – GOVERNMENT PARTNERS WITH UAE TO REPATRIATE STRANDED UGANDANS

Uganda has sealed a deal with the government of United Arab Emirates to repatriate over 450 Ugandans currently stranded in Dubai and other cities in UAE.

Under this arrangement, these Ugandans will also enjoy a waiver on all penalties accruing from their over stretched visas.

The announcement was made on Thursday by the minister for gender, labor and social development Betty Amongi at the Uganda Media Center.

This comes after infamous Images and distress calls of Ugandans believed to be stranded in the Middle East went viral on social media.
