UMSC Delegation Returns From UAE with Plans For Enhanced Cooperation

A delegation from the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), led by Prof. Dr. Muhammadi Lubega, the national chairperson, and including Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, Acting Secretary-General, Dr. Asadu Ssentongo, a member of the national executive and Mr. Abdusalaam Wamimbi, from the technical team has returned home after concluding a four-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During their visit, the team met with high-ranking officials from the General Authority of Islamic Religious Affairs & Endowment in the UAE led by H.E Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Matar Al Kaabi and Sheikh Muhammad Saeed Al Neyad.

The delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with the hosts at their headquarters in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including support for capital development (Awqaf) to strengthen UMSC’s service delivery, the promotion of Dawah (Islamic propagation) throughout the UMSC structure, social and economic development, improvements in UMSC health facilities, sanitation, water services, and initiatives for women and youth. Both parties have resolved to sign a memorandum of cooperation in the near future.
The visit was officially coordinated by H.E Zaake. W. Kibedde, the Ugandan Ambassador to the UAE, and aims to enhance cooperation between the two entities for the benefit of the Muslim community in Uganda.
