Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Honorable Anita Among, met the new Japanese Ambassador to Uganda, Mr. Sasayama Takuya, and discussed areas of bilateral cooperation with a focus on technology and infrastructure.
During the meeting, Speaker Anita Among expressed her hopes for future collaboration.
“In the years ahead, we hope to build upon those areas of mutual cooperation and support each other in trade, technological exchange, and education to help skill our young population and prepare them for a competitive future,” Speaker Anita Among said.
Ambassador Sasayama stated his intention to build on previous focuses, including refugee support, infrastructure, education, technology, and youth skilling.
“We recognize Uganda as a hub of this region historically and into the future; my government would like to invest in the future generation,” Ambassador Sasayama said.
