ICC to Confirm Charges Against the Commander of Lord’s Resistance Army Joseph Kony in Absentia

The rules governing the International Criminal Court show that it is not illegal to confirm charges against the commander of Lord’s Resistance Army Joseph Kony in his absentia.

The rules however, ban court from prosecuting the accused in absentia, which now means that Joseph Kony will face prosecution any time he appears in this Court. This was highlighted by the registrar ICC Oswald Zavala Giler, during a media brief in Kampala.
