2024 PLE Results Set for Release: Better Performance Highlighted

The Ministry of Education and Sports has announced that the results for the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) will be officially released on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The ceremony, themed “Embracing Security and Holistic Assessment of Learners in a Dynamic Environment,” will take place at State House Nakasero and will be presided over by the Minister of Education and Sports, Mama Janet K. Museveni.

Ahead of the release, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) team, led by its Chairperson, Prof. Celestino Obua, briefed the Minister and top Ministry officials on the candidates’ overall performance. UNEB Executive Director, Mr. Dan N. Odongo, revealed that 2024 saw improved performance compared to the 2023 results.

Notable Statistics:

  • 798,771 candidates registered for the 2024 PLE, marking a 6.6% increase from the 749,254 registered in 2023.
  • The briefing indicated an upward trend in overall candidate achievement, signifying positive strides in primary education.

The results will be accessible starting at 11:00 a.m. on UNEB and MOES social media platforms, ensuring wide coverage and convenience for the public.

How to Access the Results:

  • SMS Access: Parents and students can retrieve results by sending an SMS with the format PLE<space>Index Number to 6600. For example: PLE 00123/356 to 6600.
  • School Portals: Schools can access their results via the UNEB online portal.
  • Printed Copies: Hard copies will be available for pickup by District, City, and Municipal Inspectors of Schools.
