URA FC Appoint Hussein Mbalangu as New Head Coach

URA FC have named Hussein Mbalangu as their new head coach for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, with an option to extend his contract at the end of the campaign.

He replaces Alex Isabirye Musongola as the club moves to stabilise its season and push back into strong competitive form.

Mbalangu takes charge with a full technical team that was unveiled in Zanzibar. Bastu Semuyaba has been appointed first assistant coach, Richard Kansole second assistant coach, Muwadda Byuma goalkeeper coach, and Farouk Osamafitness trainer.

In the same restructuring, interim head coach Edward Golola has been relieved of his duties. Manko Kawesa remains deputy fitness trainer, while Isma Sserebe continues as team statistician to maintain continuity in the backroom setup.

Speaking at his unveiling ahead of the Mapinduzi Cup, Mbalangu expressed confidence and said he is ready to get to work immediately.

The experienced tactician has previously handled Banadir SC (now Mogadishu City Club) in Somalia, Blacks Power, Arua Hill, Mbarara City and NEC FC.

Mbalangu’s first assignment will be the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar, where URA FC open their campaign on 31st December against Mlandenge FC at Amaan Stadium.
