To my fellow colleagues at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation and our esteemed partners across the media industry, as the sun sets on 2025, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we have shared.
This year has been a profound testament to the resilience, dedication, and unwavering spirit of our national broadcaster. UBC has remained the heartbeat of the nation, serving Ugandans relentlessly from the bustling streets of Kampala to the furthest corners of our rural districts.
We have been consistent in our mission, ensuring that the “Mother Station” remains the most reliable source of truth, education, and national unity.
This year has been defined by landmark achievements that signal a new era for our corporation. Our progress is rooted in the strategic guidance and oversight of the UBC Board of Directors, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Board for their steadfast leadership, wisdom, and commitment to our corporate transformation.Their vision has provided the foundation upon which we continue to build a modern, professional, and efficient national broadcaster.
We have made significant strides in our technological evolution, specifically in our advanced preparations to transition from DTT to DTH (Direct-to-Home) broadcasting, a move that will ensure every Ugandan household can access our signal with crystal clarity regardless of their location.
We have also stayed true to our commitment to grassroots representation through the construction of brand new, studios in Moroto for Totore FM.
Furthermore, we have successfully completed the relocation of several of our radio stations back to their home districts, bringing the voice of the people back to the people and deepening our local impact.
None of these milestones would have been possible without the strong, strategic partnerships we have built throughout the year and, most importantly, the steadfast support of the Government of Uganda. We are deeply grateful for the political will and resources provided to ensure that the national broadcaster is equipped to fulfill its mandate in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
To our staff;
You are the engine of this corporation. I recognize your hard work and the sacrifices you make to keep us on air. As we enter 2026, I want to offer you a message of genuine hope. This coming year is dedicated to elevating our standards even further, not just in our output, but in our internal operations and professional environment. We are committed to fostering a workplace that reflects the dignity of the work you do.
As we look toward the New Year, we promise even better service to our audience.
We are refining our programming and expanding our reach to ensure UBC remains the gold standard for quality and national pride. Let us enter 2026 with our heads held high, knowing that our best days are directly ahead of us.
I wish you and your families a prosperous and purposeful New Year 2026.
