The Holy Father Pope Leo XIV has appointed His Excellency Most Rev. Tomasz Grysa, Titular Archbishop of Rubicon, as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda.
Until his appointment as Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, His Excellency Most Rev. Tomasz Grysa has been Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar, Seychelles and the Republic of Mauritius, and Apostolic Delegate to Comoros and La Réunion.
Born on 1 6 th October 1970 in Poznån (Poland), he was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Poznån on 25 th May 1995.
The new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda has a doctorate in Canon Law. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on I St July 2001. Having served in different Pontifical Representations — Russian Federation, India, Belgium, Mexico, Brazil, UN Permanent Mission (New York), Israel and Apostolic Delegation in Jerusalem and Palestine, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar and Apostolic Delegate to
Comoros and La Réunion on 27 th September 2022. Subsequently he was also appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the Seychelles on 9 th February 2023 and then to the Republic of Mauritius on 21 st March 2023.
The new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda apart from Polish knows Italian, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian.
