India Delivers Second Tranche of Medical Assistance to Africa CDC Through Uganda

An Indian Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft delivered the second tranche of India’s medical assistance to Africa through Entebbe International Airport in Uganda.

The 43-tonne consignment, comprising medical, diagnostic, and protective kits, was handed over to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) by India’s High Commissioner to Uganda, Upender Singh Rawat.

The donation is aimed at strengthening public health preparedness and enhancing Ebola response capacities across the region amid ongoing efforts to combat disease outbreaks and improve health security.

The latest shipment forms part of the growing India-Africa partnership in the health sector, with both sides working together to support emergency response mechanisms and strengthen healthcare systems.

Officials said the medical supplies will contribute to regional efforts to improve disease surveillance, diagnosis, and protection of frontline health workers during public health emergencies.
