Uganda Ranks Among the World’s Top 25 Outsourcing Destinations in Independent 193-Country Index

8th June, 2026 Uganda has been ranked the 24th most competitive outsourcing destination globally, out of 193 countries, in the 2026 Global Outsourcing Talent Index, placing the country among the world’s top 13% of outsourcing destinations. The ranking highlights Uganda’s strong position as a growing hub for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), driven by highly competitive labour costs and strong English proficiency.

Published by international staffing firm Ataraxis, the Index assesses countries across labour costs, English proficiency, talent availability, digital infrastructure, and business, legal, and political stability using independent international datasets. Uganda scored particularly highly on labour-cost competitiveness, ranking 12th globally, while maintaining strong performance in English proficiency.

Within the East African Community, Uganda ranks second only to Kenya and is one of just seven African countries featured in the global top 25. The achievement reinforces Uganda’s growing reputation as a preferred destination for international outsourcing and digital services.

Dr. Aminah Zawedde, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, said the ranking validates the Government of Uganda’s strategic investments in digital transformation, skills development, and the implementation of the National BPO Policy. She noted that continued investment in digital infrastructure and talent development will further strengthen Uganda’s competitiveness and attractiveness to global investors.

The recognition highlights Uganda’s readiness to compete on the global stage and positions the country as an attractive destination for companies seeking skilled, English-speaking talent and cost-effective outsourcing solutions.
