Police are investigating the collapse of a building under construction at Holy City Church, Brother Ronnies Ministries, in Bwerenga, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District.
According to the Uganda Police Force, the incident occurred in the evening, prompting rescue operations, with approximately 22 people rescued so far and evacuated to Entebbe Grade B Hospital for medical attention.
Police said rescue teams were working to establish whether any other people remained trapped beneath the rubble.
Preliminary findings indicate that the collapsed structure was an extension of the main church building and had reached the fourth floor at the time of the incident.
The cause of the collapse has not yet been established, with investigations ongoing.
Police said further efforts were being made to account for anyone who may have been inside the building when it collapsed.
