President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially began his Greater Mubende Wealth Creation Tour on Tuesday, April 15th, by visiting Balongo Patrick Matovu, a 2023 Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiary in Bugomolwa Central Village, Nkandwa Sub-county, Kyankwanzi District.
Balongo received one million shillings through the government’s PDM program and used it to start a local chicken poultry farm. His project has boosted his household income and inspired other beneficiaries to put the funds to good use.
The President praised Matovu for investing the money wisely and encouraged others to follow his example. “If all beneficiaries follow the fund’s guidelines and begin repaying their loans by the second year, each parish could build a strong revolving fund of about 800 million shillings,” he said.
While addressing the community, Museveni also spoke out against corruption, urging people to report dishonest officials. “We shall deal with them. Their time is running out,” he warned.
Matovu’s success shows how the PDM can help improve lives and strengthen communities when used properly.
