Bank of Uganda Donates Patient Monitors Worth Shs250m.

Bank of Uganda has donated 17 patient monitors worth Shs250 million to strengthen maternal and post-operation care in health facilities across several districts.

The equipment was handed over by Bank Secretary Susan Kanyemibwa to the Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine in Kampala.

The monitors will be deployed to facilities in Soroti, Karenga, Omoro, Buvuma, Buyende, Wakiso, Nabilatuk, Sironko, Tororo, Kwania, Serere and Ibanda, as well as Lira and Fort Portal regional referral hospitals.

Health officials say the devices will help medical workers track vital signs of mothers and newborns recovering after surgery.

The donation is part of the Bank of Uganda Maternal and Child Health for a Healthy Society initiative launched in 2016.
