Police at Kabalagala Division are investigating a robbery that took place at the Nsambya Traffic Lights along Ggaba Road in Kampala, where two people were reportedly attacked and robbed of cash shortly after withdrawing money from a forex bureau.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on 6 May 2026. The case has recently attracted public attention after video footage of the attack resurfaced on social media on 9 June 2026 and began circulating widely online.
Police said that upon receiving the report, investigators immediately launched inquiries into the incident. Officers visited and documented the crime scene, recorded witness statements, reviewed CCTV footage, and recovered key pieces of evidence to aid the investigation.
Authorities are currently working to identify, trace, and arrest all individuals involved in the robbery. Police have assured the public that efforts are ongoing to ensure the suspects are brought to justice.
The force has also appealed to members of the public with any information that could assist the investigation to report to the nearest police station or use established police communication channels.
