Uganda Cranes have stepped up preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with 15 players reporting to camp in Tunisia.
The Cranes are preparing to face Tunisia on September 24 before returning home to host Libya at Hoima City Stadium on September 29.
The players currently in camp are Richard Basangwa, Hannington Ssebwalunyo, David Lukwago, Geofrey Lubanga Kene, Frank Ssebufu, Herbert Achayi, Hilary Mukundane, Jonathan Odongo, Hassan Mubiru, Kenneth Semakula, Steven Mukwala, Toby Sibbick, Rogers Mato, Allan Oyirwoth and Nathan Asiimwe.
Head coach Paul Put and his technical team will use the Tunisia camp to prepare the squad for the two September qualifiers.
After the Libya game, Uganda will play two friendly matches against DR Congo in Johannesburg on October 2 and October 5.
The AFCON qualifying campaign resumes in November with Matchdays Three and Four, while the final two rounds are scheduled for March 2027.
Uganda is building towards AFCON 2027, which it will jointly host with Kenya and Tanzania.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Hippos are competing in the TotalEnergies U-20 AFCON CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers in Tanzania. They reached the semifinals after winning all their group matches, including a 1-0 victory over Sudan.
