FUFA is obligated to observe all rules and regulations approved by FIFA for its 211 Member Associations around the globe.
Players are a key aspect of the game but are guided by the FIFA Regulations on Status and Transfer of Players.
Based on the latest guidance by FIFA on movement of players trying their luck in other countries, FUFA has also issued circular No.1172 detailing new procedures for recommending players going for trials outside Uganda.
The Circular signed off by the FUFA Chief Executive Officer reads;
FUFA Secretariat has continued to receive many requests from individuals, players, Clubs and Intermediaries seeking permission for players to travel outside Uganda for trials.
This circular seeks to inform all stakeholders that pursuant to the current FIFA Regulations on Status and Transfer of Players; a new procedure was established on 1st August 2023 and became operational with immediate effect.
All football Trialists (players invited to undergo trials) must comply with the current FIFA Regulations on Status and Transfer of Players by filling the FIFA Trial form, uploaded on the FIFA TMS in full compliance with the mandatory conditions therein.
The successful fulfillment of the FIFA Trial form will provide the basis for FUFA to commence with recommendation letters for Trialist Players to National Council of Sports (NCS), Embassies or any other stakeholders.
Concerned Stakeholders are advised to orient themselves with the FIFA Procedure before embarking on such moves to have players set for trials.
