CECAFA WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Commander land forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has officially opened the CECAFA Women’s championship 2022.

During the opening, the chief guest Muhoozi Kainerugaba pledged government’s support towards sports.

The games that will see 8 countries compete will start on Wednesday 1st June at FUFA Technical center – Njeru in Jinja.

The regional game for East and Central Africa will see 8 countries compete including the host Uganda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, South Sudan, Burundi, Tanzania and Rwanda.

The games will start on tomorrow Wednesday 1st June till 11th of the same month at FUFA Technical center – Njeru in Jinja.

MK welcomed the visiting teams and urged them to feel at home and share the African brother hood. Muhoozi in his address says government will continue with it’s commitment of supporting sports in the country.

The host team Uganda will open the games with Burundian team.

During the opening, thousand of Ugandans across the country thronged KAKINDU stadium in Jinja to witness the opening where a mega party was organized.

The revealers including the third deputy prime minister Rukia Nakadaama, Ministers and politicians in BUSOGA sung praises of the commander Land Forces. Performances by top artists in country entertained the revealers.
