National Drug Authority (NDA) has concluded a 5-day compliance enforcement operation targeting drug outlets in 3 districts of Luwero,
Nakaseke and Nakasongora.
During this operation, a total of 86 drug outlets that were operating without licences
or with unqualified personnel were closed and 178 boxes of assorted medicines worth over 44,500,000 Uganda Shillings were impounded.
This operation Is in line with NDA’s mandate to protect and promote public health through effective regulation of human and animal medicines, and healthcare products. NDA informs the operators of outlets whose drugs have been impounded to visit our Kampala Extra regional offices in Nakawa to be guided on how to comply in order to receive their drugs.
All operators who are still operating without licenses or supervising unqualified personnel are hereby directed to halt all operations until the licensing requirements are fulfilled.
