Special Investigations Division Takes Charge: Ongoing Probe into Pastor Aloysius Bujingo’s Alleged Assassination Attempt

The Special Investigations Division (SID) at CID Headquarters in Kibuli has assumed control of the inquiry into the purported assassination attempt on Pastor Aloysius Bujingo and the fatal shooting of his bodyguard, Richard Muhumuza, on January 2, 2024, around 10 pm, in Bawalakata zone, Namungoona parish, Kawempe division.

Currently, the internet, social media, netizens, and propagandists are flooded with various versions and fringe statements, many of which are quite absurd. Numerous individuals, including families who have experienced similar tragic incidents, are distressed by the fringe beliefs circulated by bloggers, the majority of whom operate from UAE, Turkey, and Boston.

Despite some of the police findings being leaked to the media through informal channels, we want to reassure the nation that we have assembled a competent team actively investigating the matter at SID. They are consistently gathering witness statements, obtaining post-mortem reports, analyzing CCTV footage, and examining forensic and ballistic reports for further scrutiny and advancement of the investigation.

As part of the ongoing investigations, the Police urges anyone with information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspects, as well as the successful recovery of the firearm used, to share it confidentially with the Special Investigations Division at CID headquarters in Kibuli or contact the task team at telephone number 0741111333.
