Call to Action: NRM Urges Support for Janet Adongo in Dokolo By-Election

The NRM camp in the Dokolo by-election has reminded the electorate to turn up and vote for their candidate Janet Adongo Rose Elau, as the 6-day campaign marathon comes to an end on Tuesday.

Mrs. Adongo together with NRM’s head of Mobilisation, Hon. Rosemary Seninde, and Uganda’s High commissioner to South Africa and area influential figure Paul Amoru and Dokolo south MP Felix Okot Ogong traversed Agwata town council, Adok and Agwata sub counties telling locals to elect an NRM flag bearer if there are to get better services.

Adongo urged locals not to elect the opposition who are against the implementation of the NRM manifesto.

“Let’s not entrust our mandate with anti-government people. They do not sit at the table where the national cake is shared. Only NRM will ensure development,” she said, adding that the overwhelming love that the locals have so far showed her during campaigns is a clear signal of trust and confidence.

The NRM director of Mobilisation, Hon. Rosemary Seninde cautioned locals against lies and propaganda by the opposition elements with the aim of tarnishing Mrs Adongo and the ruling party. ‘Don’t fall prey to the increasing rumours and lies by some of our opponents against our candidate,’ Seninde said.

She also rallied the voters to massively welcome the NRM National chairman and President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday on the two separate venues as he campaigns for Adongo.

Amb. Amuro challenged the masses to avoid excitement when determining the future of the district.

“If we want development for our district then we have to vote for the party in power which is NRM and our candidate Janet Eau,” Amuro said.

The Dokolo by-election race attracted other candidates including NUP’s Harriet Ageno, sarah aguti of UPC, Akullo Esther Obot and Arao Rebecca both independents. Others are FDC’s Alwoc Austin Ogwal and Lalam Grace Hanna also independent.

Voting day is next week on 21st march 2024.
