Muhereza Kyamutetera has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Association (UTA), effective October 1, 2024. With over 20 years of experience, including 15 years in C-suite roles, Kyamutetera is set to lead UTA during a pivotal time for the tourism sector.
Kyamutetera brings extensive expertise in strategy development, business growth, marketing, and stakeholder relations. His experience spans various sectors, having worked with over 100 domestic and international brands across tourism, financial services, energy, and more.
This appointment is a key milestone in UTA’s first 100-day agenda, initiated after the board’s election in June 2024. It reflects UTA’s commitment to fostering a more professional and inclusive tourism industry in Uganda.
As the sector continues to recover from the effects of COVID-19, UTA is eager to leverage Kyamutetera’s insights and leadership to navigate the challenges ahead. Meetings with member associations will be scheduled in the coming weeks to align on strategic objectives and initiatives.
