Volunteers from the Uganda Red Cross Society – Kibaale Branch are on the ground supporting families affected by a tragic boat accident on River Nguse. The incident occurred as passengers were crossing from Kikube to Kagadi District.
According to reports, three bodies have so far been recovered, while more than twenty people remain missing. Search and rescue operations are ongoing as teams work tirelessly to locate the missing.
The Red Cross teams are working closely with Uganda Police Force and local community responders to provide emergency assistance, psychosocial support, and aid in recovery efforts.
Authorities and responders have expressed sympathy to the affected families, as efforts continue to manage the situation and support those impacted by the tragedy.
