Several Heads of State, former presidents and foreign delegations have confirmed attendance at President Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled for May 12 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
According to the confirmation list, leaders expected include Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Mozambique’s President Daniel Chapo, Togo’s President Faure Gnassingbé, South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir and Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic President Brahim Ghali.
Other confirmed leaders include Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix Tshisekedi, Gabon’s Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema and Burundi’s President Evariste Ndayishimiye.
Ethiopia’s President Taye Atske Selassie is also expected together with his spouse.
At Vice Presidential level, confirmations have been received from Kenya’s Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and Venezuela’s Vice President Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez.
Prime Ministers expected include Namibia’s Elijah Ngurare, Rwanda’s Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva and Equatorial Guinea’s Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua.
Former leaders who have confirmed attendance include former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe, former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete and former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Delegations have also been confirmed from China, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Russia, India, Saudi Arabia, Angola, South Africa and several other countries.
