Copenhagen, Denmark – Uganda embassy in Copenhagen organized the Uganda Coffee-Cocoa Promotional Event in Copenhagen from 22nd-28th June,2026 aimed at strengthening Uganda’s position as one of Africa’s leading coffee exporters, with the Nordic region emerging as a strategic high-value market for premium Ugandan coffee.
The promotion comes as Uganda continues implementing its ambitious Tenfold Growth Strategy, which aims to expand the country’s economy from US$50 billion to US$500 billion by 2040, with agro-industrialization identified as one of the key pillars of economic transformation.
Uganda achieved one of its strongest coffee export performances during Financial Year 2024/25, exporting approximately,7.7 million bags of coffee worthy US$2.2 billion in export earnings with nearly 100% growth in export revenue compared to the previous financial year, 2023-24, with Europe accounting for approximately 69% of Uganda’s total coffee exports.
These figures demonstrate Uganda’s growing competitiveness in global coffee markets and its increasing ability to supply premium-quality coffee that meets demanding international standards.
The near doubling of export earnings demonstrates that Uganda is not only increasing production but also capturing greater value through improved quality, better international prices and expanding market access.

Uganda is positioning itself to increase coffee exports into Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland by offering premium Robusta coffee high-altitude Arabica coffees from Rwenzori, Elgon and West Nile with compliance with European traceability requirements
In her address to coffee buyers, roasters, distributors and development partners, emphasized that Uganda is positioning itself as a reliable long-term supplier capable of meeting evolving European sustainability and traceability standards while delivering premium-quality coffee to Nordic consumers. “The Uganda Embassy in Copenhagen is actively promoting stronger commercial partnerships between Ugandan coffee exporters and Nordic buyers to unlock greater trade and investment opportunities.” She stated.
A major highlight of the closing ceremony, was the presence of Her Excellency Ambassador Fikile Sylvia Magubane, the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the Nordic countries. Her gracious attendance underscored the enduring friendship and strong diplomatic ties between South Africa, Uganda and the Nordic region. Addressing guests, Ambassador Magubane commended the organizers and participants for their dedication to fostering meaningful international collaboration and community engagement. Her presence added prestige to the occasion and served as a fitting recognition of the event’s significance.
