After ongoing campaigning with extensive open rallies, NRM officials and their candidate, Rose Kabagyeni, held town hall meetings yesterday afternoon in the five counties alongside district party leaders as part of a strategy to solidify their support.
Officials from the party’s secretariat, members of the Central Executive Committee, and local legislators encouraged leaders of the NRM structures to remain loyal to the party’s nominee and canvass their communities for her support on Thursday.
“We encourage you to vote for Kabagyeni and ensure the votes are safeguarded at all polling stations,” said Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, the NRM Deputy National Treasurer and head of the campaign, during the Bufumbira South gathering.
“We will rely on your updates as you are familiar with the area’s landscape. You need to put in your best effort during the remaining campaign period to maintain the NRM’s prominence in Kisoro,” Kyatuhaire added.
While party officials conducted hall meetings, Kabagyeni was moving through Kyanika town council, Chahi, and Nyakinama sub-counties for last-minute mobilization, holding rallies focused on service delivery, consolidating NRM’s widespread support, and initiatives for community empowerment to enhance livelihoods.
“We must not split our votes in this election and risk weakening our party. I call on you to support the NRM, which champions pro-people policies,” Kabagyeni stated.
She also invited the public to attend on Tuesday, the 12th, when President and NRM Chairman H.E. Yoweri Museveni will visit the district to campaign for Kabagyeni at Ssaza grounds.
