The Executive Director of the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Barirega Akankwasah, has issued a clarion call to all consumers of plastic liquids to recycle plastic containers in order to protect the environment from plastic waste.
NEMA is working in collaboration with plastic manufacturers to repurpose their products into other useful items.
In preparation for World Environment Day, scheduled for June 5, 2025, in Kabale, NEMA has lined up several activities, including tree planting in the Kigezi region to restore lost forest cover and initiatives on waste management, among others.
