Balaam Barugahara Unveils Plans for International Youth Day Celebrations in Masindi

State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Balaam Barugahara, has announced that Uganda will commemorate International Youth Day on September 19, 2025, in Masindi District.

Speaking at a press briefing, Hon. Barugahara revealed that the event will run under the theme “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnerships.” He said the theme reflects the pivotal role of young Ugandans in steering the nation’s transformation agenda through innovation, digital solutions, and partnerships at all levels, aligning directly with Uganda’s Vision 2040.

“In the Financial Year 2024/25, the Government of Uganda committed UGX 58.34 trillion toward national development, with significant investments in youth-focused programmes such as ICT, education, agriculture, and entrepreneurship,” Hon. Barugahara noted.

He called on all stakeholders to celebrate the achievements of Uganda’s youth and to recommit to empowering them.
“Together, let us recognize the potential of our youth, celebrate their achievements, and recommit to walking alongside them in shaping the Uganda we all desire,” he said.
