Police Intensify Investigations into Murder of UCU Director in Mukono

Police in Mukono District have launched intensified investigations into the suspected murder of Ms Tumwebaze Pamela, 46, the Director of Student Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU).

Ms Tumwebaze, a resident of Gwafu West Village, Seeta Ward in Goma Division, Mukono District, was reportedly killed in the early hours of February 11, 2026, at her home.

According to preliminary findings, at about 2:00 a.m., the family houseboy noticed an unknown man inside the deceased’s bedroom. The suspect was allegedly wearing the victim’s jeans and stockings at the time. He reportedly fled the scene shortly after, carrying a laptop bag belonging to Ms Tumwebaze.

The houseboy, together with the children, checked on their mother and found her unresponsive in her bed. She was rushed to Namirembe Church of Uganda Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police task teams have since been deployed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities say efforts are underway to identify, trace, and arrest the suspect.

The Uganda Police Force has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring that the perpetrator is apprehended and brought to justice.
