Uganda Media Centre Executive Director Pays Courtesy Visit to Uganda Broadcasting Corporation

Uganda Media Centre Executive Director Alan Kasujja has paid a courtesy visit this afternoon to Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) in a meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration and improving communication within Uganda’s public media landscape.

He was taken on a guided tour at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation studios both radios and Tv studios where he met editors, reporters, and production staff. During the engagement, Mr Alan Kasujja acknowledged that UBC has a great team of enthusiastic Ugandans trying their best to do their job and can do so much more if given support.

In addition to this he said that the development of our country cannot just be done in one day but rather it’s a process that every Ugandan must take part in to ensure betterment of the media industry with aid of the government as well.

The Managing Director of Uganda Broadcasting Corporation, Mr Agaba Winston welcomed the visit, describing it as timely and strategic in reinforcing institutional cooperation between Uganda Broadcasting Corporation and the Uganda Media Centre. He emphasized UBC’s mandate as a national broadcaster to inform, educate, and entertain, noting that partnerships with key government communication agencies are critical in ensuring accurate and consistent messaging reaches all Ugandans. He further highlighted the corporation’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and expand its reach across the country.

Mr Kasujja mentioned the importance of joint effort in national development, saying, “We must build Uganda as Ugandans.” He noted that UBC and Uganda Media Centreshould continue to work closely to ensure steady progress of media in the country.

Mr. Agaba also emphasised the importance of capacity building, innovation, and resource mobilization in strengthening public media institutions. He noted that while UBC has made significant strides in improving content production and audience engagement, there is still a need for sustained investment in technology and human capital. He expressed optimism that enhanced collaboration with the Uganda Media Centre under the leadership of Allan Kasujja would open new avenues for strategic communication, content sharing, and national branding initiatives.


The courtesy visit marks a significant step towards fostering stronger institutional ties within Uganda’s public media sector. As both organizations reaffirm their commitment to collaboration, the engagement sets a foundation for a more coordinated, effective, and impactful communication framework that supports national development and promotes a unified voice in telling Uganda’s story.
