The Deputy Commander Land Force, Major General Joseph Ssemwanga, has praised the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects within the UPDF 4 Infantry Division, describing the developments as an important step in improving the welfare and operational capacity of the force.
During an inspection tour of construction sites in Moyo and at the Division Headquarters, Maj Gen Ssemwanga assessed several key projects, including a housing unit in Moyo, newly constructed sanitation facilities at the 101 Battalion, a water tank, and a newly built officers’ mess at Lumumba Triangle.
The Deputy Commander expressed satisfaction with both the quality of work and the pace at which the projects are being implemented, noting that they demonstrate the UPDF’s commitment to enhancing the living and working conditions of its personnel.
According to Maj Gen Ssemwanga, infrastructure development remains a critical component in strengthening military efficiency by improving accommodation, supporting welfare, and creating a conducive environment for service delivery.
He emphasized that continued investment in such projects will contribute to the overall effectiveness and readiness of the force.
The inspection exercise was attended by members of the Division Construction Committee, including the Deputy Division Commander, Colonel Richard Kidega, as well as representatives from the administration, finance, and engineering departments.
