Uganda is turning to digital skills and innovation to create employment opportunities for young people as youth unemployment remains a major challenge.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Aminah Zawedde, says more than 600 young people have benefited from the Uganda-Japan Connect (UJ-Connect) programme, which equips youth with skills to participate in the digital economy.
She made the remarks at the ICT Hub in Nakawa while assessing the programme’s progress and impact.
