GCOF Members Visit NMS to Learn About Medicine Supply Chain

Members of the Government Communications Officers Forum (GCOF) have visited National Medical Stores (NMS) in Kampala to gain a better understanding of Uganda’s medicine supply chain and distribution system.

The learning tour, held on September 17, 2026, exposed the communications officers to the processes involved in receiving, storing, managing and distributing medicines and other essential medical supplies.

During the visit, the members were taken through how medical supplies are handled at NMS before being delivered to hospitals and other health facilities across the country.

The engagement highlighted the importance of an efficient medicine supply chain in ensuring that essential medicines reach health facilities on time and support effective healthcare delivery.

The visit is part of GCOF’s efforts to promote institutional learning and knowledge sharing among government communications officers, enabling them to better communicate government programmes and services to the public.
