Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has met British investor Lord Krish Raval, who is in Uganda to explore potential investment opportunities in the country.
Lord Raval, a member of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords, met the Prime Minister at her office in Kampala as part of his visit aimed at exploring areas in which he could invest in Uganda.
The meeting was attended by Second Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, Third Deputy Prime Minister Rukia Nakadama and other government officials.
Lord Raval was born in Uganda in the 1970s before his family left the country during the regime of former President Idi Amin. His return comes more than five decades after he relocated to the United Kingdom.
Before meeting Prime Minister Nabbanja, Lord Raval met President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe, where they discussed potential investment opportunities.
During the meeting with Nabbanja, the Prime Minister directed the Uganda Investment Authority to facilitate and protect the interests of investors as they explore opportunities in the country.
Nabbanja also highlighted several investment areas that President Museveni had encouraged Lord Raval to consider.
Lord Raval said his visit marks an opportunity to reconnect with his country of birth while exploring ways of contributing to Uganda’s economic development through investment.
