Tea farmers from 20 growing districts in Rwenzori, Albertine, Rwizi and Kigezi regions have formed an association to raise resources together to address tea production challenges.
The Uganda National tea out growers association comes in handy when tea farmers country wide are faced with unstable market and tea price fluctuations.
During the general assembly of tea farmers held in Fort portal, farmers say the association will help them to have one voice to minimize tea production challenges.
Government through National Agriculture advisory services facilitated tea farmers with seedlings which increased tea production.
However the increased production overshoot the factories capacity something that is being revised by government.
