Mr. Vincent Bagiire, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has today Monday 11th December ,2023 officiated the briefing of Advance teams at Sheraton Hotel – Kampala on Uganda’s preparations for the 19th NAM and Third South Summits scheduled for December 11th-12th, 2023.
The 19th NAM Summit, set to span six days at Speke Resort Munyonyo, unfolds as follows:
- January 15–16, 2024: Meeting of Senior Officials
- January 17–18, 2024: Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs
- January 19–20, 2024: Summit of Heads of State and Government
Media & ICT services will be well-catered, with three functional facilities at Entebbe International Airport, Hotel Africana, and Speke Resort Munyonyo. These centers boast high-speed internet, ample bandwidth for State and Government use, and dedicated areas for Heads of Delegation.
Delegates will enjoy free WIFI at the Airport, Munyonyo, and the Summit Media Centre. Modalities for delegate registration are currently under discussion.
For seamless information dissemination, the mobile app NAM-Uganda is now available on IOS and will be released for Android by December 15, 2023.
International media members seeking accreditation can do so through the Uganda Media Centre, in coordination with the Uganda Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Accreditation is ongoing, with a general media advisory set to be issued on December 15, 2023.
The ongoing briefing of Advance Teams spans two days, commencing on December 11, 2023, at Sheraton Hotel – Kampala, followed by a tour of facilities on December 12, 2023, covering Entebbe UN RSCE, Airport, and Speke Resort Munyonyo.
