President Museveni Mourns King Oyo, Directs Official Burial and Three Days of National Mourning

President Yoweri Museveni has mourned the death of Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV, describing his passing at the age of 34 as a great loss to Tooro and Uganda.

The President said King Oyo had demonstrated potential to work closely with the Central and Local Governments to contribute to the development of Tooro.

He also revealed that Government supported the King’s treatment in Germany and later the United States after he was diagnosed with aggressive cancer.

President Museveni further announced that King Oyo will receive an official burial and directed that national flags be flown at half-mast for three days.
