Uganda Police Force officer PC Masereka Noel has emerged the Best Student among more than 100 participants at the International Judo Federation Academy Judo Coaches and Referees Seminar held in Burundi.
The four-day seminar, held from October 5 to 8, 2026, brought together participants from Uganda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Zambia to strengthen technical skills and knowledge in Judo.
PC Masereka and Cpl Babirye Racheal represented the Uganda Police Force at the training, which covered Judo techniques, coaching methods and competition rules through both theoretical and practical sessions.
Masereka’s strong performance throughout the seminar earned him recognition as the Best Student, highlighting the growing technical expertise within the Uganda Police Force’s Judo programme.

The participation was also aimed at strengthening Uganda Police’s technical capacity ahead of the 6th East African Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO) Games, which Uganda is scheduled to host in 2027.
The EAPCCO Games bring together police forces from member countries to promote cooperation, teamwork and professional relations through sporting activities.
Masereka’s achievement is expected to boost Uganda Police Force’s preparations for the 2027 games while showcasing the ability of its officers to excel in specialised sporting disciplines at international level.
