UN Resident Coordinator Susan Namondo Bids Farewell to Uganda, Applauds Partnership with Defence Forces

Susan Ngongi Namondo, the outgoing United Nations Resident Coordinator in Uganda, paid a courtesy visit to General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, this afternoon.

During the meeting at the SFC Headquarters in Entebbe, Her Excellency Namondo expressed gratitude for the collaborative relationship between Uganda and the United Nations, thanking the CDF for his role in fostering these ties.

Having served in Uganda since 2021, Namondo will soon assume the same role in Tanzania after concluding her responsibilities here. General Kainerugaba commended her service and contributions toward strengthening UN relations through policies that align with Uganda’s interests.

The General also congratulated her, acknowledging that under her leadership, Uganda’s UN team surpassed global benchmarks on the Gender Equality Scorecard.

Her Excellency, in turn, expressed her gratitude to the Chief of Defence Forces for his steadfast support of her and the wider UN community throughout her tenure.

She praised Uganda’s notable role as a pillar of peace in the region and its ongoing commitment to regional stability.

Additionally, she underscored the essential role of close coordination between the Ugandan Government and development partners, highlighting that such collaboration is key to achieving cohesive and impactful development outcomes.
