The small town of Romagné is set to make motocross history this weekend, July 5–6, as it welcomes a record-breaking 38 nations for the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, marking the first time the event is held in Ille-et-Vilaine.
A total of 239 riders from across the globe will compete, making this edition one of the most internationally diverse in the championship’s history. From motocross powerhouses like France, Italy, and the Netherlands to first-time participants Madagascar and Zimbabwe, the event reflects the sport’s growing global appeal.
“It’s proof of the global boom in motocross,” noted Christophe Deroyer, pointing to the diverse line-up as a sign of the sport’s ability to unite young talent from all corners of the world.
Among the many firsts, Raycin Kyler will make history as the first female rider to represent the United States at the Junior Motocross World Championship. She will join fellow American contenders Brady Olson and Tristan Prueitt, while New Zealand’s Levi Towley, the reigning 85cc world champion, will make his highly anticipated debut in the 125cc category.
The 125cc field will feature top emerging talent including Niccolo Alvisi (Italy), the current EMX125 leader, as well as Mano Faure and Liam Bruneau (France), Dani Heitink (Netherlands), Cole McCullough (Ireland), and Jarne Bervoets (Belgium).
Behind the scenes, the Moto Club de Romagné, led by President Jean-Pierre Villerbue, has worked tirelessly to accommodate the influx of national teams, media, and fans. Facilities have been expanded, including a 100-square-meter press room, upgraded internet infrastructure, and OB van setups for live broadcasts.
“This is a massive effort, but we anticipated much of the work on the track and facilities,” said Villerbue.
