Luuka Youth Leaders Endorse Annet Nabirye as their Candidate in NRM Primaries

The Youth Chairpersons in the 306 villages in Luuka District have today endorsed Annet Nabirye as their choice of candidate for Luuka District Woman Member of Parliament seat.

The youth leaders say they will vote for Nabirye in the forthcoming National Resistance Movement (NRM) parliamentary primary elections slated for Thursday 17th, July, 2025.

They also endorsed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the Presidency in the 2026 general elections.

This was during the last campaign event for Nabirye held in Luuka Town Council.

Ms. Nabirye will be facing off with the incumbent MP, Esther Mbayo, Evelyn Kabule and Resty Namutamba, the current Youth Councillor for Luuka District.

According to the youth leaders, during her reign as District Youth Councillor, Namutamba has done nothing for the youth and they cannot add her another responsibility which they think she will fail to execute like it has been the case in her current term.

Ms. Nabirye, who also serves as the Luuka District Women League Chairperson thanked the people of Luuka for supporting and loving her unconditionally.

“The most important thing, thank you for loving Luuka. The fact is that whoever loves Nabirye, loves Luuka,” she said.

“Let’s not play with the votes, sensitize everybody to come and vote on Thursday, 17th July, 2025. Let us vote for Nabirye for a better future for Luuka. We should transform Luuka into a model district.”

She encouraged voters to maintain discipline and ensure peace during elections.

“Let’s not fight anybody,” she emphasized.

The event was witnessed by NRM Women leaders in the district, Town Council Mayors (4 out of 5 were present) and Sub County Chairpersons ((All 7 were present), among others.
