Uganda and Korea to Hold an Investment Meeting in Mid 2026

Uganda and the Republic of Koreas will hold an investment meeting in partnership with the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) in early 2026.

This announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Bagiire Vincent Waiswa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral a meeting with Mr. Gi-Hyun Kim, Vice President/International Cooperation Group of Korea International Trade Association (KITA) on 3rd November, 2025 at Trade Tower Building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Mr. Bagiire, who hailed the warm relations between Uganda and the Republic of Korea, emphasized the need for technology transfer as well as investment promotion from Korea to Uganda within the Agro-industrialisation, Tourism, Mineral development and Science, Technology and Innovation sectors. Mr. Gi-Hyun Kim welcomed Uganda’s proposal for a Uganda-Korea investment meeting and pledged to work with Uganda in organizing the meeting.

While looking forward to the event, the KITA officials emphasized the importance of preparation for the Ugandan Business Community in engaging with the Korean business market in order to attract and secure business investments in Uganda. They took the opportunity to invite the Government of Uganda to establish a resident Embassy in Korea in order to inspire confidence in the Korean market.

The Permanent Secretary was accompanied by H.E. Ms. Tophace Kaahwa, Uganda’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (non-resident), Mr. Nurh Byarufu Minister-Counsellorand Ms. Evelyn Ngalonsa, Counsellor.
