Government has announced security and traffic arrangements ahead of the presidential swearing-in ceremony scheduled for May 12 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
According to the traffic plan released by authorities, access routes to Kololo will be limited to vehicles with accredited stickers.
The designated access routes include Ssezibwa Road through Golf Course traffic lights and John Babiiha Road to Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. Other approved routes include Entebbe International Airport through the Entebbe Expressway and Yusuf Lule Road to Kololo, as well as the Munyonyo Spur route through Northern Bypass and Yusuf Lule Road.
Several diversions have also been announced to manage traffic flow around the city.
At Wampewo roundabout, vehicles will be diverted towards Jinja Road to access UMA Show Grounds and Phaneroo grounds. Access to Acacia Avenue through Golf Course Fairway Hotel traffic lights will be restricted to VIP vehicles with red stickers.
Authorities also said motorists approaching from Old Kira Road and Mawanda Road will be redirected at City Oil on Acacia Road towards Mulago traffic lights.
The public has been advised to use designated parking areas, including City High School, Phaneroo Grounds, UMA grounds and Millennium Grounds.
VIP parking will be accessed through Elgon Terrace and Heroes Corner at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. Members of Parliament will park at Parliament, while NRM Secretariat members will use parking at the NRM Kyadondo offices.
Possible diversions have also been outlined along key routes including Kajjansi Flyover, Serena-Kigo road, Mutungo, Kitiko, Busabala traffic lights and Munyonyo roundabout.
