President of Kenya H.E William Ruto and Kenya’s former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, recently engaged in discussions with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda, touching on various crucial matters concerning regional integration and economic development.
Ruto expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in resolving issues related to the flow of petroleum products between Kenya and Uganda. During his meeting with President Museveni, they reached an agreement on a strategic approach to sourcing and scheduling imports, aiming for competitive pricing and logistical efficiency. Additionally, they discussed the urgent need to pursue the construction of the Eldoret-Kampala-Kigali refined petroleum product pipeline, a project that holds significant potential for enhancing regional trade and connectivity.
On the other hand, Raila Odinga acknowledged an invitation from President Museveni for a joint meeting with President Ruto to delve into matters concerning regional integration within the East African Community. Their discussions also extended to Odinga’s candidacy for Chairperson of the African Union Commission, with both Museveni and Ruto offering their support for his candidacy.
Amidst their busy schedules, the trio took a moment to visit President Museveni’s remarkable cattle farm in Kisozi, showcasing the importance of fostering personal relationships alongside diplomatic engagements.
