The Minister for Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda has today held a fruitful meeting with the Queen of Rwenzururu Kingdom, Her Royal Highness, Agnes Ithungu Asimawe at the Office of the President in Kampala.
The Queen was accompanied by Hon. Kabugho Enid, the Deputy Minister for Tourism in Rwenzururu Kingdom, Mr. Siira Baluku the Chairman of Nyabaghole Foundation and the Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) for Kasese, Mr. Tsongo Tien.
During the meeting, the Minister and the Queen shared possible ways of rebuilding the relationship and good working environment between the government and the Rwenzururu Kingdom.
They also discussed how best the Nyabaghole Foundation can help in the mobilisation of Rwenzururu people towards positive response on government programs.
The Nyabaghole Foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation, standing as a developmental arm of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu and it aims at building the capacity of those people who believe and cherish cultural values and traditions of the local communities in the Rwenzori Sub-region.
The two leaders also discussed challenges currently facing the people of Rwenzori and how the government can help to overcome them.
On the other hand, through Hon. Babalanda, Queen Asimawe delivered an appreciation message from the Omusinga Wa Rwenzururu, His Majesty, Charles Wesley Mumbere to the President for development the Rwenzori region through the various government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga and the infrastructural development.
