NEMA has engaged environmental practitioners and assessors from across the country, through their umbrella organisationโthe Uganda Association of Impact Assessors (UAIA)โto enhance efficiency in environmental assessments and the issuance of operation certificates for developers in Uganda.
The President of UAIA, Mr. Dansan Asiimwe, expressed sincere appreciation to NEMA for the significant improvements made in the processing of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental Audit approvals.
NEMA has registered notable progress, with ESIA certificate processing improving by over 300% between 2019 and 2025.
